About TB-500

Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein present in most mammalian cell types and one of the principal actin-sequestering proteins in the body. TB-500 is a synthetic construct based on the region of the parent protein most associated with its biological activity.

The defining property studied in laboratory work is actin binding. By sequestering G-actin monomers, Thymosin Beta-4 influences the equilibrium between monomeric and filamentous actin, which in turn affects cell motility and cytoskeletal organisation in culture.

Published research on TB-500 examines cell migration assays, angiogenic signalling, and the actin-sequestering mechanism itself. As with all compounds supplied by Athenex Labs, it is not an approved medicine and is offered for laboratory research only.

Research applications

TB-500 is used in laboratory settings for work including:

Handling and storage

Lyophilized TB-500 should be stored at -20°C for long-term stability and protected from light and moisture. The sealed vial tolerates ambient temperature for the duration of transit without meaningful degradation.

For reconstitution, bacteriostatic water is typically used. Add the solvent slowly against the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder, and allow the peptide to dissolve without shaking. Vortexing introduces shear forces that can damage peptide structure. Once reconstituted, store at 2-8°C.

Purity verification

Every batch Athenex Labs supplies is verified at 99%+ purity by high-performance liquid chromatography, with molecular identity confirmed by mass spectrometry. We source directly from ISO-certified manufacturers rather than through reseller chains, and we test independently rather than relying solely on supplier documentation. A batch-specific certificate of analysis is available on request.

Frequently asked questions

When will TB-500 be available?

TB-500 is being sourced now. Availability depends on securing a batch that passes independent purity verification. Message us on WhatsApp to be notified when it launches.

What will the purity specification be?

The same standard applied to every Athenex Labs product: 99%+ HPLC purity with mass spectrometry identity confirmation and a batch-specific certificate of analysis.

What is the difference between TB-500 and Thymosin Beta-4?

Thymosin Beta-4 is the full 43-amino-acid naturally occurring protein. TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on its active region, which makes it more practical to manufacture and handle in a laboratory setting.

Research use only. TB-500 supplied by Athenex Labs is a research chemical intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory investigation. It is not a drug, supplement or medicine. It is not for human or animal consumption and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. By purchasing you confirm that you are a qualified researcher or represent a research institution, and that the material will be used solely for legitimate scientific research.
